We believe that the families of each child are the most important influence in their lives. We recognise the role families have as their child’s first teacher, and want to continue this partnership through our service. Educators’ practices and the relationships they form with children and families have a significant effect on children’s involvement and success in learning. Children thrive when families and educators work together in partnership to support young children’s learning.
We will endeavour to be sensitive to, and supportive of, diverse family structures, acknowledge family strengths and include the cultures and languages of children’s families and communities through our early education centre. Open effective communication and mutual respect needs to be established between staff and family members to enable all involved to appreciate the other’s role, to promote the sharing of information and to enhance children’s learning.
We recognise the importance of families being involved in their child’s early education, and encourage you to be involved in whatever way you can. There are many ways that we involve families throughout the service and cannot stress the importance of this partnership. We believe that the centre should be an extension of the home and wish for you to feel welcomed at our centre.
There are many different styles and philosophies about teaching and the way children learn in their early years. We believe that the curriculum used in a centre should reflect their philosophy and be appropriate to the specific setting of the service. Kid’N Around Early Education Centre does not use anyone particular style, approach, or type of curriculum, but implements a balanced program that draws on a range of approaches adapted to suit our service.
